Santec, a leading design and manufacturer of fiber-optic components, subsystems and optical
instruments announced a commercially available hermetic-sealed polarization scrambler module
(PS3300-S) to adapt for long-haul and submarine networks up to 10 Gb/s to minimize PDG
(polarization dependent gain) in an EDFA (Erbium-doped fiber amplifier) for the first time. The
PS3300-S operates at fastest modulation frequency of 1 MHz as an optical module that deploys
excellent polarization scrambling technologies from Fiberpro Inc. The PS3300-S provides low DOP
(degree of polarization) of several percent at 0 to 50degC in wavelength range of C-band or L band.
